Walking while Brushing: The Risks!

Walking while brushing is a definite sign of mental hyperactivity and carries two major risks:

  1. Falling with brush in the mouth – This will cause injuries to mouth structures and possibly to other body parts.
  2. Gradual weakening of grip of gums over teeth – when psychologically pre-occupied while brushing, it is natural to put more pressure on the teeth. This will loosen up the stable teeth, making way for their inefficiency and settling of long term mouth infections.

Brushing must be done while standing only. The bristles have to be used softly over the teeth. Gums must be massged well with fingers after brushing and using a tongue cleaner.

Exercises and physiotherapy can help take off stress and allow to focus on the present activities, in the known environment of one’s home.
